RawCore Radio

RawCore Radio Show

RawCore Radio is officially back from it's year+ hiatus, doing what they have done best; dropping those ill Hip-Hop, Rap, & R&B records 24/7-365. NO commercials. NO plugs. NO talking. Period. Honorable deejays such as Spec, Motts, Needles, Red Alert, Splitface, Mahf, & Secret Code have had featured mixes or even took the time out to donate "custom mixes", specifically formated for the show.
RawCore Radio was started in 2006 by SAV & DJ Spec of the Basement Sound System. RawCore has gradually built a strong listening base with the ever so steady format of mixing classic records while supporting Independent artists.
2010 brings new hosts, new formats & more music than ever to RawCore Radio. Butcher Baker, the new host & Program Director, will be picking up where everything was left in May 2009.
You can tune in now, or anytime to the 24/7 stream here by clicking the flier or link below.

R.I.P. PROOF

Serengeti & Polyphonic

I've been a fan of Serengeti since the early 2000's when I first heard him featured on a DJ Crucial project, "Breakfast of Champions". (yes, the 7") Although I wasn't too familiar with Polyphonic, aside from the snippets heard from his 2006 debut album "Abstract Data Ark", I was still interested when I heard the two was producing an album on Anticon Records. "Don't Give Up" was released in 2007 which contains one of my most favorite songs from Serengeti & Polyphonic, "Sunrise". I feel that the album was short lived though & not a lot of people gave it the chance. 2009 came with the release of "Terradactyl", as well as two Serengeti solo projects, "Yoome" & "Friday Night". If I could only recommend one, I would say go pick up "Friday Night". Deconstructed party raps to the max with the help of Hi-Fidel.
Serengeti & Polyphonic stated they will be releasing an Ep entitled "Bells & A Floating World" but still no word of the release date or any signs of promotions. I look at both of these artists as originators but it seems like they haven't had the best of luck together. I'm still looking forward to hearing the new project though, as long as it doesn't turn into the Detox.

Meat Grinder (Cheuuat Gaawn Chim)

Meat Grinder (Thai Horror)
This Thailand horror movie started out with a flashback in black and white showing a little girl who is about to submerged her head into a jar full of water while her parents are on the background fighting over her husbands gambling which the mother blames for their being poor and not barely having enough money for food.
Meat Grinder takes you to taste the bizarre horror of traditional noodle recipe cooked by Boot, a woman who owns a noodle stall, a unique noodle stall.
Boot has been living with tension and stress for all of her life, she works hard for her family as a noodle cook. Sometimes, she is controlled by a mysterious voice that suggests her to do or not to do things. One day, she encounters a chaos in town and is rescued by a guy named Attapol who later becomes her companion. That evening after the chaos, Bus surprisingly discovers a guy lying dead under her stall, she discreetly looks at him and comes up with her new recipe. Bus begins to slice his flesh, mix it with spices, and throw it into her noodle pot.
After her secret recipe is introduced, Boot gains so many customers and reputation of her delicious noodle. Meanwhile, the haunting voice still keeps talking to her, and tell her what to do. Boot tactfully starts to lure and murder people. The more she kills, the more of her dark side reveals. And when Attapol begins to suspect Boot's behavior, he stumbles on the evil of her as he is now the hunted.
